– Youths in northern Nigerians have been asked to concentrate on the insecurity problem facing the region
– Shehu Sani made the call following opposition that greeted Kukah’s message against Buhari’s administration
– Meanwhile, Nigerians have reacted to the call made by the outspoken activist
In what will annoy many youths in northern Nigerian, Shehu Sani has called on them to leave Mathew Kukah alone and face the banditry problem facing them.
The former senator representing Kaduna central made this known in a tweet on Monday, December 28 following numerous statements from the youths against the Catholic bishop who recently lambasted the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Sani in telling the youths to prioritise the security situation in the region used a maxim from southwest to convey his message.
“My dear northern youths; leave the Kukah in Sokoto and fight the bandits in your shokoto.”
This message has instantly generated reactions on social media with many people praising the outspoken activist and others lambasting him.
@UsmanAbdulRabiu in his reaction said Kukah targeted Islam.
“We are not in support of Buhari’s method of leadership, but Kukah’s statement is a direct attack on Islam and Muslims. Hence we can’t condone that.”
“Kukah is always attacking Buhari because he is Muslim. As a leader, you can’t always be humiliating the president who is in charge of security in Nigeria, one day it may happen to you.”
“There was nothing absolutely in Bishop Kukah’s message that was against Islam and Muslims unless Buhari and his government are the ‘Islam and Muslims’. I am a Muslim. I believe in Almighty Allah and His Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and can say that the bishop did not attack Islam.”
@hassangaladima1 also added:
“I don’t have issue with anybody who throws stones at PMB. It is none of my business. But Kukah comment was an attack on Northern Muslims. Jonathan appointed over 50 Christians, 46 from SE. CAN president was in charge of arms purchase. Did Kukah call for coup? Be matured pls
